White Water Rafting!

Today we took the kids on an excursion to go white water rafting! OMG it was sooooooo much fun! i thought i was going to fall out 20 million times but i didnt! yay go me! :)

I did however come away with a battle wound....a big cut and bruise down my back becasue one of my campers didnt hold onto her paddle properly when we were going through one of the rapids! ouchies! but it was so worth the pain, so much fun!

halfway through the instructor and the kids decided to play gang up on the counsellor....so they made me sit in the bottom of the raft at the front....and the instructor kept us in the middle of one of the rapids so that i just kept getting water pouring over the top of me! it was so funny i couldnt breathe from all the water, plus i was laughing so kept sucking it in! all i could hear was the kiddies in fits of laughter! it was so fun!!!!

long bus ride though....2 hours each way so it took it out of us all a bit! bout to hit the hay now!

I am still loving the weather here.....boiling hot and sunny during the day and then thunder storms lighting and rain every night! its really bizzare!

So far have really only seen squirrels, definately no bears or anything like that thank goodness! the bugs over here are huge though! and really wierd colours like bright blue and bright red! i have mozzie bites all over me!

And because its so sunny, my freckles have come out in full force! its so funny, i think it makes me look like a little girl!

My girls have been teasing me lately because of the way i say things! like lemondade instead of soda, trackies instead of sweatpants! they think its hilarious! Although i have caught myself saying american things every so often like "candy" so i hope i am not getting an accent already!

im gonna go beddie byes now, but i cant wait to hear from you all and i will write again soon!

much love xo

OOH! I don't think I would like white-water rafting, it sounds too out of control for me!!! I hope your battle wound is better and all healed up. I would like to hear more about your bugs, they sound interesting. What do the kids call them?
Today is Libby's birthday, so she has been having a really exiting day with two new balls to chase!
I can't wait to hear more news. keep it coming. I hope you come back with an accent so we can all tease you!!!!! We miss you Kel!
lots of love Aunty Jen xxxxxxxx

Sounds such fun! It's all very well being part of the invisible entourage, but even my imagination isn't the same as real water and sun (and bugs!). Second-hand is much better than nothing, though, so thanks for keeping us posted. It was pretty nice on my beach this morning, too, but very cold! There were ecstatic dogs and glamorous racehorses (in the water - brrr!) and majestic pelicans and horrible big orange jellyfish.
Take good care of yourself, Kel. We love to think of you having so much fun and new experiences. xo
